Tim Benz

Tim Benz is a proud Alumni of Mineral Area College with an Associate of Arts in Speech and Drama. During this time, his academics were focused on developing Art, Theater and Stagecraft skills. He is a member of Delta Psi Omega and performed with the MAC Little Theatre Guild during its active years as both an Actor and Master Carpenter. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Southern New Hampshire University with a concentration in Information Technology, while continuing to develop art and design skills and has worked professionally as a commission artist in San Diego for nearly a decade.

Tim has returned to the MAC Theater as an enthusiastic participant in the MAFAA productions with his wife and two children. Drawing on previous training and over 25 years of experience, Tim plays an active role in designing, building, and painting production sets, acting as the Technical Director for MAFAA productions. He offers a hands-on Scenic Art Design class that includes techniques for creating realistic textures, trompe l’oeil techniques, practical color theory, elements/principles of design and layout scaling best practices.
